Creative people and places I loved in March

Hi!
The creative energy was buzzing this month - Hobbyist was busy at the La Belladone Creator’s Market, Phone Free Creative Night, and hosting more fun events throughout the city.

The best part was meeting so many talented and kind makers. We have the best creative community here in Brussels, and I’m so happy to share them here with you…
CREATORS I LOVED THIS MONTH
I met Max from Demi Kiwi at the La Belladone Creator’s Market — truly the nicest guy, and he makes such a fun mix of things (his linocut prints are especially cool)
Anthea Missy’s work genuinely stopped me in my tracks… her silkscreen prints are so colorful and bold. I want to fill an entire wall in my home with her art.
Des Ponts-Aimé was another favorite from the market. She creates really playful, mixed-medium pieces that feel super original and clever.
I know Aori Studio was on my list from last month, but the quality and story of her incredible jackets is worth another shout out. I finally bought one this month and it is special piece of wearable art - I mean seriously how COOL is this jacket??!!

PLACES + EVENTS THAT INSPIRED ME
La Belladone - the team here is amazing, and they do so much to support and promote creativity in Brussels through their creator’s market, photo gallery, pop-up craft events and phone-free nights. We’ll be back soon with another Watercolor pop-up, stay tuned…
I tried Craft Studios in Ixelles this month - it’s a very cool creative bar where you can pick one of many different projects to try from their “craft menu”. I tried a mosaic project for the first time and loved it!
The Until It’s Done Club hosted an event about going all-in on your passion, with an all-star lineup of entrepreneurs sharing their experiences in making their dreams a reality. The story of the club’s founder is so inspiring - you won’t regret signing up for one of their events.

WHAT’S COMING UP AT HOBBYIST?
Find us at the Brussels Makers Market this Sunday, April 5 from 11-6pm
I’ll soon share the next date for a La Belladone watercolor pop-up - hope to see you there :)
Stay crafty,
Sammy
